We have compiled a list of resources from government, nonprofit and private sector entities. We will update the list as we discover new resources that we find compelling.

The resources below represent current federal government programs that have been created to support and mitigate personal and business financial challenges. State and local support may also be available.

The Federal Government’s COVID-19 Website – joint website of the White House, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) listing resources for individuals, businesses, healthcare workers, schools, emergency management, and others.

For Small Businesses

The Small Business Owner’s Guide to the CARES Act (U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship) – U.S. Senate guide providing information about the major programs and initiatives from the Small Business Administration (SBA), as well as some additional tax provisions that are outside the scope of the SBA.

Coronavirus (COVID-19): Small Business Guidance & Loan Resources (U.S. Small Business Administration) – SBA’s website covering its COVID-19 related programs, including the Paycheck Protection Program, Economic Injury Disaster Loans and Emergency Grants, and Small Business Debt Relief.

Assistance for Small Business (U.S. Department of Treasury) – Treasury Department’s website covering information on the Paycheck Protection Program, as well as other tax provisions meant to help employers, including non-profits.

Getting Cash for Your Small Business Through the CARES Act (Brian Thompson, Forbes) – article summarizing government assistance for small businesses.


Women’s Business Loans (Women’s Venture Fund) – loans for women-owned businesses in New York City, Long Island, and many areas in New Jersey.

Best Small Business Grants for 2020, including Coronavirus Grants (Fundera) – information about and links to various grants for small businesses.

Emergency Grants (Hello Alice) – $10,000 emergency grants for small businesses.

The Red Backpack Fund (GlobalGiving) – $5,000 grants to female entrepreneurs in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis.

COVID-19 Relief for Women-Owned Businesses (I Fund Women) – provides microgrants to women-owned businesses that are impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.

Fund Supporting Minority and Women of Color Small Businesses (Shea Moisture) – $1 million fund to support minority and women of color small businesses through various initiatives.

Where Women Business Owners Can Turn for COVID-19 Financial Help (Anne Stych, Biz Women) – article summarizing various funds available for women business owners.


Coronavirus Resources (U.S. Department of Labor (DOL)) – DOL’s website outlining workplace safety, wages, hours, and leave, and other information for employers and employees.

The Action Guide (Ellevate Network) – resources to assist with workplace challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, including on the topics of remote work, mental health, work/life balance, and others.


Daily Life & Coping (CDC) – information on coping with stressors during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mental Health & Psychosocial Considerations During the COVID-19 Outbreak (World Health Organization (WHO)) – a series of messages that can be used to support different groups, including the general population, healthcare workers, children, seniors, and others.

COVID-19 Resource and Information Guide (National Alliance on Mental Illness) – a Q&A document on a number of topics.


10 Best Job Search Sites of 2020 (Consumers Advocate) – a list of best job search sites based on in-depth reviews.

Free Fridays (General Assembly) – a series of free workshops every Friday through June. Topics include career development, coding, data and marketing, UX design, and other tech skills.

Free Online Ivy League Courses (Free Code Camp) – approximately 450 free online classes from Ivy League universities in a wide range of subjects.

Mind Stream Sessions (iUrban Teen) – a series of e-learning classes on a variety of topics, including languages, science, writing, and career development/entrepreneurship.

M.E.E.T. Me for Online Learning (Ms Jheri Worldwide) – online English Language Arts instruction and support. Curriculum caters to 6th grade onwards. The course will integrate writing skills with content from history, geography, politics, economics, and culture into the study of language.
